The Alison White Dance Studio was founded in 1979 by Alison White, and officially opened in 1980, at Villa Maginot Manarinno Road B’Kara. In 1986 the studio moved to new premises which had been renovated, a little further down the road at The Prince Theatre, 27, Valley Road, B’Kara.

The studio specializes in stage dance; students from the tender age of 3 years may start classes; however from 5 years are taught in the three main disciplines which are ballet, jazz and tap. The excellent training prepares and gives students an extremely solid foundation for further studies in musical, theatrical and physical theatre. The studio also provides training in Spanish Dance, Commercial Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Margaret Morris Movement and most recently Acrobatic Dance. Students may study up to teaching and dance diploma courses. The B.T.D.A. examinations are now accredited as GCSE grading and A level diplomas and dance qualifications are now recognized on the school leaver’s certificate.

The studio has been running for over 40 years and has had an excellent success rate in students auditioning for international vocational colleges, and companies. It is a member of the British Theatre Dance Association (B.T.D.A.), The Margaret Morris Movement (M.M.M.), CID Unesco, and The Dance Council Malta (DCM), for which Ms. White was President from 2008 up until the dissolution in 2014.
